The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation announced that they will withdraw noon-hour supervision provincewide on Friday, February 16, 2024. As a result, the school day is being adjusted and grades 1-8 students will be dismissed at 12noon in all elementary schools, with schools reopening at 2pm until regular dismissal.
The Kitchener Community School schedule for grades 1-8 students on Friday, February 16 will be as follows:

Regular start time of 9:20am until 12 noon.

School will be closed from 12 noon until 2:00 pm. Please ensure students do not return to school prior to 2:00 pm. The extended break is necessary to accommodate teacher preparation time and the lunch break.

2:00pm to end of regular school day of 3:25pm - School reopens for students who are able to return.

If your student(s) will not be returning to school, please enter the absence in Edsby or contact the school directly.
**Kindergarten classes will run as normal from 9:20-12pm or 12:45-3:25pm. There is no Prekindergarten on Friday as usual.**
If students choose to return to school from 2:00 pm to 3:25pm, families continue to be responsible for end of day pick up.
Note that all buses for field trips, charter buses for full band, CRP and all other bus charters are cancelled.
Classes resume as usual on Monday, February 26, 2024, following the February break.
